Zephyr farm is located in an historical agricultural section of Cranston, RI. They provide fresh vegetables, herbs, and eggs to Rhode Islanders through farmer's markets, Consumer Supported Agriculture (CSA's), restaurants, and Food For Thought! The farm is managed by a fifteen-year seasoned farmer Michele Kozloski. All vegetables are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or fertilizers and the chickens are cage-free, rotated through pastures bi-weekly. My family has enjoyed buying Michele's produce for years at the Coastal Grower's Farmer's market at Casey farm. Her expert farming yields the most amazing looking and tasting produce with just enough shelf-life to prepare and enjoy the bounty of your purchases. I don't know about you, but when I go to a Farmer's Market and browse under a colorful, fresh harvest scented
tent like Zephyr Farm, I am seduced by every vegetable. Each one calls out to me
"I'd make a great cole-slaw, try me roasted with fresh herbs, juice me, slice me thinly and layer with goat cheese and balsalmic, etc. So I usually go home with enough veggies to make it my full time job for a week to delight in the preparation and finally enjoy eating all of the fresh local produce. My point is that Michele's veggies can last a bit longer than most non-pesticide veggies when stored properly. So go ahead, over-indulge in fresh local veggies! Don't forget that Michele makes Rhode Island's favorite farm fresh pesto, Besto Pesto. There are 100 delicious ways to enjoy this light, savory pesto. And it freezes well so you can use what you need and save the rest for another meal. Visit ZephyrFarm to learn more!

Patrick McNiff, farmer and founder of Pat's Pastured, stewards Briggs Boesch a 100 acre farm in East Greenwich, RI. Pat has a longstanding reputation for responsible farming and positive contributions to small farm agriculture and quality livestock in Rhode Island. We know Pat as a caring, hardworking, and meticulous farmer. We are proud to carry many of his pasture-raised meats at Food For Thought!
Pat's Pastured was founded in 2002 and provides the highest quality pasture raised and grass fed meats. Their goal is to provide livestock with a life that allows them to express their natural instincts fully in a pasture environment. That means that pigs get to root, run and play; chickens get to peck, scratch and crow; turkeys goggle and strut; cows eat grass outside, not corn in confinement.
Food For Thought carries a variety of Pat's meats such as nitrate-free Italian sausages, Farmway Franks, and Chourizo. What's better than a local hot dog for your summer barbeque? They're kid tested and parent approved. We also carry the whole pasture-raised chickens and chicken legs and thighs. Seasonally we offer Pat's eggs with their bright yolks and fresh flavor these eggs are a customer favorite and rich with pasture-raised nutrition. The farm offers even more products which we can carry upon request.
